The 79 Series runs a coil-sprung solid front axle located by radius arms and a panhard rod, so the front springs come out without dismantling a strut. At 4 inches of lift the geometry changes enough that supporting parts matter: caster correction (offset radius arm bushes or caster correction bushes) to restore steering self-centring, an adjustable panhard rod to re-centre the axle under the body, extended-length shocks, and brake lines and breathers long enough for the extra droop. Allow around 500km for new springs to settle, and have the vehicle aligned once it has. Springs only – shocks and correction parts are sold separately.

Match the rating to weight that is on the vehicle permanently rather than occasionally – too soft and it sags once loaded, too firm and it rides harshly unladen.
