The Rear Sway Bar Extension Link Kit (part number STBJK02R) is a sway bar link upgrade engineered for Wrangler JK 2-6". Manufactured by Roadsafe, one of Australia's longest-standing 4WD steering and suspension specialists, it is a direct-fit part for the listed vehicles.
With significant part numbers that cover over 400+ specific vehicle applications, the constantly expanding range covers a huge variety of fitments, including vehicle specific and universal applications.
Roadsafe are constantly expanding the range to include a greater variety of 4WD and commercial vehicle applications.
The Sway Bar Link is usually a ‘ball/ball’ style application, and in some instances, maybe a combination of a ‘ball/pin’ or ‘pin/pin’ application.
Most Sway Bar Links vary in length, and the ball fittings of each end are not always parallel. Due to these huge variations, Roadsafe has expanded the range to allow customers to choose ‘specific’ fitments. It is also due to the huge variety that Roadsafe has also included universal ‘ball/ball’ style sway bar links in the range.
The universal component manufactured with a removable end is trimmed to the desired size to suit the required application. These universal links offer a competitive ‘off the shelf’ option for immediate supply to your customer. When sway bar links wear out or are damaged, they can cause a rattle while driving, increase and uneven tyre wear, and impair handling characteristics. Sway Bar Links need to be inspected regularly and replaced if found to be worn or damaged.
Designed to suit 2-8" lifts, the Roadsafe heavy duty "extended thread' links allow you to effectively trim the sway bar link to your desired length to provide adequate tail shaft clearance and sway bar alignment. Manufactured from Heavy Duty 16mm rod, Roadsafe heavy duty sway bar links offer both increased strength and increased stud articulation, providing for less stress on the sway bar links during wheel articulation. Sway bar end links connect the anti-roll bar to the axle or control arm. Lifting a 4WD changes the geometry: the factory links end up at a steeper angle, which preloads the bar, limits droop travel and accelerates wear in the little factory ball joints and bushes. Extended and heavy duty links restore the correct bar angle for the lift height stated, keep the bar working through its intended arc, and use stronger joints that stand up to corrugations and repeated articulation.
Worn or over-angled links are a common source of front-end knocks and clunks on lifted vehicles — replacing them is one of the cheapest fixes for a rattly lifted front end.
