The Rubber Extended Brake Line - Rear Chassis to Diff (part number BL215R) is a extended brake line engineered for Landcruiser 70 ABS/Non ABS 1/07-7/14. Why change the Extended Brake Lines? Every time you apply pressure to the brake pedal, your brake line rubber expands a bit due to the high hydraulic pressure (volumetric expansion) used during braking, which eventually causes the brake lines to ‘soften’, increasing with age, resulting in a soft spongy feel in the brake pedal.
When you have that feeling, then it is possible that new brake lines are required. If a lift has been fitted to the vehicle with already softened brake Lines, this can further result in brake line failure.

When you lift a coil or leaf sprung 4WD, the axle droops further away from the chassis at full suspension extension. Factory rubber brake hoses are cut to standard-height lengths, so on a lifted vehicle they can pull taut at full droop — and a stretched brake hose can restrict, kink or in the worst case tear away from its fitting off-road. Extended lines restore the correct amount of slack for the lift height stated, so the brakes keep working through the full range of wheel travel.
Braided lines add a stainless outer weave over a PTFE core, which reduces hose swell under hard pedal pressure for a firmer, more consistent pedal feel — a worthwhile upgrade when towing or on long descents. Rubber versions are a direct, economical like-for-like replacement in an extended length.
