High-quality rubber bushings microcellular foam cell technology 54mm twin tube body quality welds, eyes and pins a steering damper is basically a shock absorber for the steering that works to enhance 4x4 driving feel, response and comfort, by inhibiting the effects of tyre vibration and steering feedback from the track surface. Issues caused by tyre vibration and rough track surfaces are amplified in 4x4 vehicles when they are upgraded to run on bigger tyres and with higher lifts, all of which work together to alter the factory steering geometry.
The upgrade from a standard OE to a heavy-duty Steering Damper is necessary with most 4x4 vehicle lifts, requiring more assistance or dampening to reduce the impacts and jolts experienced during both on and off-road conditions.
