The Adjustable Panhard Rod - Front w/Rubber Bush (part number APR009) is a adjustable panhard rod engineered for Landcruiser 78/79 Series 6Cyl. Manufactured by Roadsafe, one of Australia's longest-standing 4WD steering and suspension specialists, it is a direct-fit part for the listed vehicles.
An absolute necessity on all raised 4WD’s is the Adjustable Panhard Rod. Designed to correct axle alignment, the fitment of an Adjustable Panhard Rod eliminates potential contact between tyre and body and improves handling issues on vehicles lifted 2”+.

The majority of Roadsafe Adjustable Panhard Rods now come standard with high flex Rubber Bushings. This has been a gradual change based on customer demand. Our Roadsafe rubber bushings bring the factory ride feel to the upgraded replacement Adjustable Panhard Rods. The high flex Roadsafe rubber bushings offer less Noise, Vibration & Harshness over the polyurethane bushings for panhard applications.

On coil sprung live-axle 4WDs, the panhard rod locates the axle side-to-side. It runs from the chassis on one side to the axle on the other — and because it is a fixed-length link swinging through an arc, lifting the vehicle pulls the axle off-centre toward the chassis mount. The result on a lifted vehicle: the axle sits visibly offset, tyres run closer to one flare, and steering feel changes.
An adjustable panhard rod lets the installer set the exact length needed to re-centre the axle at the new ride height. Roadsafe's rods use serviceable rubber bushings for factory-style isolation and adjust without removing the rod from the vehicle.
