The Torque Arm (part number TAHILAB) is a suspension arm upgrade engineered for Hilux 11/83-8/97. Manufactured by Roadsafe, one of Australia's longest-standing 4WD steering and suspension specialists, it is a direct-fit part for the listed vehicles.
Roadsafe Extended Trailing Arms & Drop Boxes are intended to re-align various components under the vehicle following a lift greater than 50mm. These high-quality items are manufactured strongly to absorb the rigours of four-wheel driving. Remember, you can still bend or break them if your driving style is aggressive!

When raising a leaf front & rear spring hilux, a Roadsafe Torque Arm should be installed. Basically the torque arm acts as a diff locater, and adjusts the location of the diff to prevent preloading of the front suspension. Using the standard torque arm on a raised Hilux will constrict the front suspension. The Roadsafe Torque Arm comes complete with high flex rubber bushings for maximum articulation, and on-car adjustability to suit heigts up to 3" lift. Suspension arms locate the axle or hub and control its geometry through travel. After lifting, factory arms often leave caster (steering self-centring) out of specification and, on live axle vehicles, can bind before the suspension reaches full travel. Upgraded arms correct the geometry for the lifted height, use stronger tube, and replace tired factory bushes with serviceable joints.
Adjustable versions let the installer fine-tune the geometry to the vehicle's actual lift instead of a one-size compromise.
