Tough Dog 9-position 40mm adjustable front shock absorbers (BM401069) for the Jeep Wrangler JK (March 2007 - 2018, all models), sold as a pair and covering standard height up to approximately 40mm of lift. Nine damping positions let you tune the front end for tyre size, load and terrain.
If your Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018 wanders over corrugations or keeps bouncing after a dip, the front dampers are usually the culprit – heat kills damping oil long before the shocks start leaking.
The 40mm Adjustable adds 9-stage adjustable valving – run it softer for unloaded around-town driving, then firm it up when the vehicle is loaded for touring, without taking anything apart.
Shocks are sold and fitted as a pair – replacing one side only gives you uneven damping across the axle. While the old ones are off, check the bushes and mounts; hardware that's had years of flex is cheap to do at the same time.
Doing the whole vehicle at once? We also stock the matching rear Coil Springs and rear Adjustable Shocks for the Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018.
Pair with Tough Dog front coils, SV steering damper and adjustable panhard rod.

These suit the following applications: Jeep Wrangler JK (SWB & LWB) March 2007 - 2018. Check your build date and variant against the fitment table on this page – if you're not certain, contact us with your rego or VIN details and we'll confirm fitment before you order.
Foam Cell is the all-round choice for touring – the foam insert stops the oil aerating so damping stays consistent on corrugations. Step up to the 9-stage Adjustable if the vehicle swings between unloaded weekdays and loaded trips and you want to tune the damping to match, or to the bigger-bore options if it works hard, hot and heavy most of the time.
The listed price covers both sides – always replace left and right together so the axle is evenly damped and sprung. It's a bolt-in job for a competent home mechanic or any workshop; check bushes, mounts and brake-line slack while everything is apart.
