Tough Dog Foam Cell rear shock absorbers (FC43038) for the Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 (2011 - 2015), sold as a pair and valved for approximately 40mm of lift.
Nivomat warning (Tough Dog): these components will NOT fit vehicles equipped with Nivomat self-levelling rear suspension. Check before ordering: standard rear shocks have a 51mm outer diameter, Nivomat shocks are 63mm and are self-contained with no air lines or electrical connections.
Shocks are the first thing to give up on a Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 2011-2015 that gets worked – tired dampers show up as float over undulations, nose-dive under brakes and a body that keeps rocking after the bump has passed.
The Foam Cell is Tough Dog's twin-tube workhorse: a microcellular foam insert takes the place of the usual air gap inside the shock body, so the oil can't foam up as heat builds and the damping stays consistent on long corrugated stretches.
Shocks are sold and fitted as a pair – replacing one side only gives you uneven damping across the axle. While the old ones are off, check the bushes and mounts; hardware that's had years of flex is cheap to do at the same time.
Doing the whole vehicle at once? We also stock the matching front Foam Cell Struts and front Coil Springs for the Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 2011-2015.

Genuine Tough Dog suspension from an authorised Australian dealer.
Standard rear shocks have a 51mm outer diameter; Nivomat self-levelling units are 63mm and self-contained. Tough Dog components do not fit Nivomat-equipped vehicles.
These suit the following applications: Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 (excludes Nivomat models) 2011 - 2015. Check your build date and variant against the fitment table on this page – if you're not certain, contact us with your rego or VIN details and we'll confirm fitment before you order.
Foam Cell is the all-round choice for touring – the foam insert stops the oil aerating so damping stays consistent on corrugations. Step up to the 9-stage Adjustable if the vehicle swings between unloaded weekdays and loaded trips and you want to tune the damping to match, or to the bigger-bore options if it works hard, hot and heavy most of the time.
The listed price covers both sides – always replace left and right together so the axle is evenly damped and sprung. It's a bolt-in job for a competent home mechanic or any workshop; check bushes, mounts and brake-line slack while everything is apart.
