Choosing the right spring rate comes down to what you carry permanently on the vehicle — a heavier constant load needs a firmer rear spring to hold ride height and avoid sagging under a canopy, drawers or long-range fuel and water tanks. Common accessories that shift the ideal spring rate include steel bull bars, winches, dual battery trays, rooftop tents and permanently fitted canopies with drawer systems. Talk to our team about your typical loaded weight before ordering so the leaf springs and front coils are matched to how you actually use the vehicle.
This kit is best fitted by an experienced 4WD suspension workshop or a competent DIY installer with the right tools, as it involves removing the front strut assembly and rear leaf pack. A wheel alignment is mandatory after fitting to bring castor, camber and toe back within specification at the new ride height. Allow a 500km bed-in period for the springs and shocks to settle before fine-tuning. If you're running larger tyres or a heavier front bar, pairing this kit with upgraded control arms can help restore correct steering geometry.
Bilstein has supplied OE and aftermarket damping technology to 4WD manufacturers and tourers for decades, and the B6 Offroad range is tuned specifically for Australian gravel, corrugations and towing conditions. This kit is backed by Bilstein's manufacturer warranty and sold through our Australian-based fitment support team. This kit suits BT-50 Gen 3 owners who tour with a loaded canopy or camper trailer, tradespeople carrying tools and equipment daily, and caravan tow-tug owners needing more rear support under a tow ball load. If your accessory load varies trip to trip, it's worth comparing this fixed-rate kit against airbag suspension for adjustable load support.

This kit is designed for the Mazda BT-50 Gen 3, built from 09/2020 onward. It is not a match for the earlier Gen 2 BT-50 (2011-2020), which uses a different chassis and spring mounting. If you're unsure which generation you own, check your compliance plate build date or use our parts finder for the BT-50 Gen 3. Our team can also confirm fitment over the phone before you order.
This kit delivers a 2" lift at the front via King Springs coils and a 2" lift at the rear via raised leaf springs. Both are matched to Bilstein B6 Offroad shocks tuned for that ride height. The 2" lift is enough to clear larger tyres and add ground clearance without needing extended brake lines on most builds.
Please note that all assembled struts are dispatched at a height based on our experience and the manufacturer’s specifications for the advertised lift. Coil springs and leaf springs are also manufactured according to the advertised height and constant-load rating. Actual vehicle height may vary depending on the vehicle and the weight of fitted accessories. Further adjustment may therefore be required after installation. The installer may use coil spacers or adjust the struts at their discretion to achieve the desired height. We are not responsible for vehicle-specific height variations or any additional adjustments required after installation.
You get 2 x Bilstein B6 Offroad front shocks, 2 x Bilstein B6 Offroad rear shocks, 2 x King Springs front coil springs, 2 x raised rear leaf springs, plus U-bolts, shackle bushes and pins, and the fitting hardware needed for installation. Everything required for the suspension change is in the box. Upper or lower control arms are not included and are sold separately if needed.
Yes. The raised rear leaf springs and rear B6 Offroad shocks are matched to support extra rear load, which helps with tow ball weight and rear sag when towing a caravan or trailer. For heavier or variable towing loads that change trip to trip, ask our team whether an airbag suspension add-on suits your setup better than a fixed leaf rate alone.
At a 2" lift, most BT-50 Gen 3 owners run standard front control arms without issue, but geometry and CV joint angles can be tighter if you're also running larger tyres or a heavy bull bar. Upgraded control arms correct castor and improve articulation at height. Our fitment team can advise based on your tyre size and accessory load.
Yes, a wheel alignment is mandatory after installing this kit. Lifting the vehicle 2" changes castor, camber and toe angles, and running it unaligned accelerates tyre wear and affects steering feel. We recommend booking an alignment immediately after fitment and again after the 500km bed-in period.
The rear leaf springs and front King Springs coils in this kit are matched to the BT-50 Gen 3's factory spring rate range for a balanced unladen and loaded ride. If you're carrying a heavier constant load — such as a permanent canopy and drawer system — talk to our team before ordering, as a firmer rear spring may suit your setup better.
A 2" lift on the BT-50 Gen 3 typically allows for a moderate increase in tyre diameter over standard, giving clearance for common all-terrain and light mud-terrain sizes. Actual clearance depends on wheel offset and width, so check your exact tyre and rim combination with our team before purchasing. Larger tyres may also affect steering geometry, which is where upgraded control arms come into play.
This kit is backed by Bilstein's manufacturer warranty covering the B6 Offroad shocks and King Springs components against manufacturing defects. We handle warranty claims through our Australian-based team, so you're not dealing with an overseas supplier directly. Keep your proof of purchase and fitment date for any warranty claim.
Yes. The B6 Offroad shocks and King Springs coils in this kit are tuned to keep unladen ride quality comfortable on sealed roads, not just off-road tracks. Many BT-50 Gen 3 owners run this kit as a daily driver that also tows and tours on weekends. The monotube shock design keeps damping consistent whether you're on the highway or a corrugated dirt road.
