Description

The Bilstein 2" Lift Kit for the Nissan Pathfinder R51 (2005-2013) pairs B6 monotube shock absorbers with King raised coil springs for a genuine 2" lift front and rear. The monotube shock design uses digressive piston valving to manage damping force across small and large inputs, giving flatter cornering and steadier control when loaded with a bull bar or camper trailer. Paired with quality raised coil springs, this kit restores comfortable ride characteristics at the new ride height. Backed by Bilstein's manufacturer warranty, dispatched from Australian stock, with fitment support from our suspension team.

Kit Includes

  • 2x Bilstein B6 Front Shock Absorbers
  • 2x King Front Coil Springs
  • 2x Bilstein B6 Rear Shock absorbers
  • 2x King Rear Coil Springs

Features

Key Features & Performance Benefits

  • Delivers a 2" lift front and rear on the Nissan Pathfinder R51, increasing ground clearance for larger tyres and improved departure angles.
  • Bilstein B6 monotube shock absorbers use a single-tube gas-charged design with a floating piston separating oil and gas, reducing fade under sustained off-road use.
  • Digressive piston valving gives firmer control over large bumps while staying compliant on small, sharp inputs — useful on corrugated tracks and highway expansion joins alike.
  • King coil springs are wound to a raised 2" specification, matched to the B6 shock valving so ride height and damping work together rather than against each other.
  • Improved support for common Pathfinder accessories — bull bars, winches, roof racks and camper trailers — without the wallowing feel of a sagging standard coil.
  • Monotube shock bodies run a larger oil volume than twin-tube equivalents, helping manage heat build-up on long touring drives or when towing.
  • Corrosion-resistant shock shafts and quality seals are suited to Australian conditions, from coastal humidity to dry inland dust.
  • Can be paired with other Bilstein shock absorber options in our range if you want to fine-tune damping for a specific load.

Spring Rate Selection Guide

Choosing the right spring rate depends on what stays fitted to your Pathfinder day to day. A vehicle carrying a steel bull bar, winch and drawer system needs a firmer front spring than one running standard bumpers, while the rear coil should be matched to whether you tow a camper trailer or carry a loaded canopy. Common accessories that affect spring selection include bull bars, winches, long-range fuel tanks, roof racks, drawer systems, canopies and trailer tow-ball loads — tell our team what you're running and we'll help match the right rate.

Installation & Setup

This kit is best fitted by an experienced 4WD suspension installer or a competent DIY mechanic with the correct tools, given the shock and spring removal involved. A wheel alignment is mandatory after fitment — the change in ride height alters camber and caster, and skipping this step accelerates tyre wear. Allow a 500km break-in period for the King coil springs to settle to their final ride height before making any further adjustments. If you're running heavier front-end accessories, pair this kit with upgraded control arm upgrades to correct suspension geometry and CV joint angles at the new height.

Why Choose Bilstein?

Bilstein has built monotube shock technology for decades, and the B6 range extends that damping design into 4WD-specific applications for Australian vehicles. Kits like this one are backed by a manufacturer warranty and are commonly fitted to tow vehicles and daily-driven tourers where consistent damping matters more than a one-off test result. You can view the full Bilstein range to compare this kit against other shock and spring options for your Pathfinder.

Who Is This For?

This kit suits Pathfinder owners who tow camper trailers or boats, tradespeople carrying tools and equipment in the rear tray or canopy, and weekend tourers wanting extra clearance for beach or forest tracks. If your Pathfinder regularly carries a constant heavy load such as a slide-on canopy or generator, also look at airbag suspension to support variable loads without changing your unladen ride height.

This Bilstein 2" lift kit is in stock in Australia and ready for fast dispatch, with our suspension specialists on hand to confirm fitment for your Pathfinder R51 build. Browse our full lift kit range or get in touch if you need help matching spring rates to your accessories.

FAQs

This Bilstein 2" Lift Kit is designed specifically for the Nissan Pathfinder R51 built between 2005 and 2013, covering the 2.5L YD25 turbo-diesel, 3.0L V9X turbo-diesel and 4.0L VQ40DE V6 petrol variants. It is not designed for the earlier R50 or later R52 Pathfinder generations, which use different suspension mounting points. If you're unsure of your exact build date or engine, our team can confirm fitment against your VIN before you order.

The kit provides a 2" lift at both the front and rear of the Pathfinder R51, achieved through Bilstein B6 monotube shocks matched to King raised coil springs wound to the same 2" specification. This is a moderate, factory-compatible lift that improves ground clearance without pushing the vehicle outside typical engineering tolerances. Final ride height can vary slightly depending on vehicle load and spring settling during the break-in period.

Please note that all assembled struts are dispatched at a height based on our experience and the manufacturer’s specifications for the advertised lift. Coil springs and leaf springs are also manufactured according to the advertised height and constant-load rating. Actual vehicle height may vary depending on the vehicle and the weight of fitted accessories. Further adjustment may therefore be required after installation. The installer may use coil spacers or adjust the struts at their discretion to achieve the desired height. We are not responsible for vehicle-specific height variations or any additional adjustments required after installation.

The kit includes 2 x Bilstein B6 monotube front shock absorbers, 2 x Bilstein B6 monotube rear shock absorbers, 2 x King raised front coil springs and 2 x King raised rear coil springs. Mounting hardware, bushes and fitting instructions with torque specifications are also supplied. Upper control arms and wheel alignment are not included and are sold separately if required.

Yes, the B6 monotube shocks and King raised coil springs are commonly fitted to Pathfinders that tow camper trailers, boats or box trailers. The monotube shock design carries a larger oil volume than twin-tube equivalents, which helps manage heat build-up during sustained towing. If you tow regularly with a heavy tow-ball load, tell our team so we can confirm the rear spring rate suits your setup.

At a 2" lift height, many Pathfinder R51 owners choose to upgrade the front control arms to correct suspension geometry and restore correct CV joint operating angles. It's not always mandatory at this lift height, but it does improve long-term component wear and on-road handling. Our control arm range is a straightforward pairing with this kit if you want to fit it at the same time.

Yes, a wheel alignment is mandatory after fitting this lift kit. Raising ride height by 2" changes camber and caster angles, and driving on an incorrect alignment will accelerate tyre wear and can affect steering feel. Book your alignment straight after installation, ideally once the King coil springs have settled through their initial break-in period.

King coil springs for the Pathfinder R51 are available to suit different constant loads, so the rate you choose should reflect what stays fitted to the vehicle — a bull bar and winch up front, or a canopy and camper trailer at the rear. Contact our suspension specialists with a list of your fitted and planned accessories and we'll help match a spring rate to suit. Getting this right at point of purchase avoids a sagging rear or an overly firm, harsh front end.

A 2" lift on the Pathfinder R51 typically creates enough clearance for a moderate increase in tyre diameter over standard, though exact clearance depends on wheel offset and width. We recommend confirming your intended tyre and wheel package with our team before ordering to avoid rubbing on guards or suspension components at full articulation. Fender trimming may be needed for larger tyre and wheel combinations.

This kit is covered by Bilstein's manufacturer warranty, which applies to the B6 shock absorbers and King coil springs against manufacturing defects. Warranty terms are honoured through 4WD Suspension as an Australian-based supplier, with our team handling any warranty claims directly. Keep your proof of purchase and fitment date on file in case a claim is needed.

Yes, the B6 monotube shocks are designed to give controlled, comfortable damping on sealed roads as well as on dirt, making this kit suitable for a Pathfinder used for daily driving, work and weekend touring. The digressive valving keeps small road irregularities smooth while still firming up under larger inputs off-road. Most owners report the ride feels similar to standard once the springs have settled, just at the new 2" ride height.
