Description

The Blackhawk Upper Control Arm kit is built specifically for the Toyota Landcruiser 100 Series IFS (1998-2007) and corrects the castor angle change that follows a front lift up to 3", the main cause of inner-edge tyre wear and vague steering on lifted 100 Series wagons. Each arm arrives with Roadsafe heavy-duty ball joints and OE-style rubber bushes already pressed in, so it's a direct bolt-in job at the factory mounting points. Browse all suspension parts for the Toyota Landcruiser 100 Series to match this arm to the rest of your setup. In stock in Australia now, backed by Blackhawk4x4's manufacturer warranty and fitment support from our suspension team.

Kit Includes

  • 2 x Blackhawk UCA's pre-fitted with OE style rubber bushes
  • 2x Roadsafe HD Ball Joints pre-fitted to the control arms
  • 4 x Washers
  • 2 x Blackhawk Ball Joint Dust Caps
  • 2 x Dust Cap sealing O-Rings

Features

Key Features & Performance Benefits

  • Corrects factory castor angle after a front lift of up to 3", reducing the inner-edge tyre wear common on unmodified 100 Series IFS wagons
  • Pre-fitted Roadsafe heavy-duty ball joints, so there's no separate ball joint purchase or press-in job before fitment
  • OE-style rubber bushes control noise, vibration and harshness while still allowing the arm to articulate through its full range
  • Steel arm construction with a corrosion-resistant coating suited to Australian conditions, from coastal salt air to red dust
  • Direct bolt-in design using the factory upper mounting points — no drilling, notching or fabrication required
  • Restores correct wheel alignment geometry, improving tyre wear patterns and steering stability at highway speed
  • Works with both standard-height and lifted suspension setups on the 100 Series IFS platform
  • Complements upgraded shock absorbers and coil springs when running a full lift kit, keeping geometry correct front to rear
  • Pairs well with a quality steering damper for tighter steering feel on corrugated tracks

Spring Rate Selection Guide

This kit corrects geometry only — it doesn't include coil springs — but the front spring rate you run alongside it should be picked to suit your constant front-end accessory load. A bull bar, winch and bull bar-mounted driving lights all add weight over the front axle, which changes ride height and castor once the vehicle is loaded. Check our coil springs range for load-rated options that suit a bull bar and winch combination on the 100 Series.

Installation & Setup

These arms bolt directly to the factory upper mounting points, but we recommend an experienced 4WD fitter or wheel alignment shop handle the install given the torque specs and alignment work involved. Wheel alignment is mandatory after fitting — castor, camber and toe all move when the upper arm geometry changes. Allow a 500km bedding-in period for the rubber bushes to settle before a final alignment check. If you're correcting geometry after a lift, it's worth reviewing your lower control arm condition at the same time.

Why Choose Blackhawk4x4?

Blackhawk4x4 builds suspension componentry specifically for Australian 4WD platforms, with control arms designed around common lift heights rather than a generic aftermarket profile. This kit is backed by Blackhawk4x4's manufacturer warranty and is used by tourers and tradespeople running lifted 100 Series wagons. You can view the full Blackhawk4x4 range to see how this arm fits into a complete suspension upgrade.

Who Is This For?

This kit suits 100 Series IFS owners who've already fitted or are planning a front lift kit and need the castor angle corrected before their next alignment. It's also a sensible upgrade for anyone replacing worn factory ball joints and bushes on an older 100 Series, lifted or not. If you're carrying constant load — camper trailer, caravan or tools — pair it with airbag suspension to manage rear sag without affecting the front geometry this arm corrects.

This Blackhawk upper control arm kit is dispatched from Australian stock with fitment support from our team on hand if you're unsure about lift height or spring pairing. Browse our full suspension components range to complete the job in one order.

FAQs

Yes, this Blackhawk upper control arm kit is built specifically for the Toyota Landcruiser 100 Series IFS (independent front suspension) built between 1998 and 2007. It suits the 1HD-FTE turbo diesel, 1FZ-FE petrol and 2UZ-FE V8 petrol variants of the 100 Series. It is not designed for the 105 Series solid-axle Landcruiser, which uses a different front-end setup. If you're unsure which platform your vehicle uses, our team can confirm fitment from your VIN or chassis details.

This control arm kit does not add lift on its own — it corrects the castor angle that changes once you fit a front lift kit up to 3". Lift height comes from your coil springs and shock absorbers, and this arm makes sure the geometry stays correct at that new ride height. If you haven't fitted a lift yet, check our coil springs range for options that suit the 100 Series IFS.

You get a pair of Blackhawk4x4 upper control arms with Roadsafe heavy-duty ball joints and OE-style rubber bushes already pressed in, along with the mounting hardware needed to bolt them to the factory points. Lower control arms, coil springs and shock absorbers are not included and are sold separately. See the full kit contents list on this page for exact quantities.

Yes, correct upper control arm geometry is important for stable towing because it keeps castor and camber within spec when the front end is loaded or the vehicle is lifted. This arm doesn't change load capacity itself, but it stops the alignment drift that can cause wandering or uneven tyre wear while towing a van or trailer. For rear load support while towing, pair it with our airbag suspension options.

Not necessarily, but it's worth inspecting your lower control arm bushes and ball joints while the front end is apart, especially on an older 100 Series. If your lower arms are worn or if you're running a larger lift, matched lower arms can help keep the full geometry chain correct. Our control arm range covers both upper and lower options for the 100 Series.

Yes, wheel alignment is mandatory after installing these upper control arms. Changing the arm geometry directly affects castor, camber and toe, and running the vehicle without a fresh alignment will cause uneven tyre wear. We recommend a 500km bedding-in period for the rubber bushes before the final alignment check.

This control arm kit doesn't include springs, so spring rate selection is separate. If you're running a bull bar, winch or bull bar-mounted lights, choose a front coil spring rated for that added weight so ride height and castor stay consistent once loaded. Our coil springs range lists load-rated options for the 100 Series IFS.

This arm corrects geometry rather than adding clearance, so tyre fitment depends on your lift height and tyre size rather than this component alone. Correct castor from this arm does help maintain steering feel and reduce scrub when running larger tyres on a lifted 100 Series. Check your specific lift height and tyre size with our team if you're planning a larger tyre upgrade.

This kit is covered by Blackhawk4x4's manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Contact our team before or after purchase for the specific warranty terms and claim process that apply to this SKU. We can also help with fitment queries if an issue arises after installation.

Yes, this arm uses OE-style rubber bushes rather than solid or heim-joint style bushes, which keeps road noise and vibration at factory-like levels for daily use. It's designed to restore correct alignment geometry, which actually improves on-road steering feel and tyre wear compared to running a lift without corrected arms. Many 100 Series owners run this arm as their daily driver and tow setup.
