Choose your rear leaf spring rating based on what stays on the tray permanently, not just your heaviest occasional load. A ute running a steel canopy, drawer system, dual battery tray and a bullbar up front needs a firmer rating than one running factory-weight only. Common accessories that shift the ideal spring rate include canopies, water tanks, tool boxes, winches, bullbars and caravan or camper trailer tow ball loads.
This is a bolt-on kit best fitted by an experienced 4WD suspension installer or a competent DIY mechanic with a spring compressor and hoist access. Wheel alignment is mandatory after fitting — the 2" lift changes camber and caster and running out of spec will chew through tyres. Allow a 500km bushing and spring settling period before final alignment if you can. For sharper on-centre steering and corrected control arm angles at ride height, pair the kit with upgraded control arms.
Dobinsons has built suspension for Australian conditions for decades, and this IFP kit reflects that with local valving and spring rate development rather than a generic overseas tune. Every kit carries a manufacturer warranty through 4WD Suspension, and our team can talk you through spring rate and shock selection for your Amarok's actual load. Tradespeople and tourers running the same vehicle in the same conditions we tested in trust the brand for that reason — view the full Dobinsons range to compare options.
This kit suits Amarok owners fitting bigger tyres, running a canopy or tray for work, or towing a van or trailer regularly and wanting rear support to match. If your accessory load changes trip to trip rather than staying constant, it's worth comparing this leaf spring kit against airbag suspension which lets you add or dump air pressure on demand.

This Dobinsons IFP kit is built for the 2023-on VW Amarok, the second-generation model built on the Ford Ranger platform with 2.0L Bi-Turbo and 3.0L V6 TDI diesel engines. It is not designed for the earlier 2010-2022 Amarok, which uses a different front suspension layout. Check the SKU DIFP50-SNGA against your build date, or send us your rego and we'll confirm fitment before you order.
This kit gives a 2" lift front and rear on a standard Amarok. The front is height-adjustable through the coilover spring collar, so you can wind it back if you want closer to a 1.5" lift or run it at the full 2" for maximum tyre clearance. Rear lift height depends on the leaf spring load rating fitted and how loaded the tray sits day to day.
Please note that all assembled struts are dispatched at a height based on our experience and the manufacturer’s specifications for the advertised lift. Coil springs and leaf springs are also manufactured according to the advertised height and constant-load rating. Actual vehicle height may vary depending on the vehicle and the weight of fitted accessories. Further adjustment may therefore be required after installation. The installer may use coil spacers or adjust the struts at their discretion to achieve the desired height. We are not responsible for vehicle-specific height variations or any additional adjustments required after installation.
You get 2 front Dobinsons IFP monotube shocks with adjustable height coilover collars, 2 front coil springs, 2 rear IFP monotube shocks, 2 raised rear leaf springs, and the U-bolts and mounting hardware needed to fit them. Fitting instructions are included in the box. Upper control arms are sold separately and are worth considering if you're running the kit at full lift.
Yes, that's a core reason the rear leaf springs come in multiple load ratings. Choosing a leaf spring rate that matches your tow ball weight and any permanent tray accessories keeps the rear sitting level rather than sagging under a loaded van or trailer. Tell our team your typical tow ball weight and accessory load and we'll help you pick the right rear spring rate.
It's not compulsory but it's worth doing. At a 2" lift the factory front control arms sit at a steeper angle, which can affect camber and reduce up-travel slightly. Upgraded control arms correct this geometry and restore proper suspension travel, and we recommend them for Amarok owners running the kit at full height with larger tyres.
Yes, a four-wheel alignment is mandatory after installing this kit. The 2" lift changes front camber and caster from factory specification, and running outside tolerance will cause uneven tyre wear quickly. We suggest an initial alignment straight after fitting and a check-up alignment after a 500km settling period once the springs and bushes have bedded in.
Yes, the rear leaf springs in this kit are available in different load ratings so you can match constant accessory weight such as a canopy, dual battery tray or drawer system. The front coil springs are also variable rate with adjustable preload via the coilover collar. Tell us your typical loaded weight and we'll recommend the right combination for your Amarok.
A 2" lift generally opens up clearance for a modest tyre size increase over standard, though exact clearance depends on wheel offset, width and any body modifications. We recommend confirming your intended tyre size with our team before ordering so we can flag any rubbing points specific to the 2023-on Amarok's guards and chassis rails.
This kit is covered by Dobinsons' manufacturer warranty, sold and supported through 4WD Suspension in Australia. If a shock or spring shows a manufacturing fault within the warranty period, contact our team with your invoice details and we'll manage the claim with Dobinsons directly. Normal wear items like bushes are excluded, as is damage from incorrect installation.
Yes. The IFP monotube shocks use variable velocity valving specifically to keep highway ride comfortable rather than firm and jarring, while still giving a firmer response over rough tracks when you need it. Plenty of Amarok owners run this kit as their only suspension setup for daily driving, weekend touring and occasional towing without swapping shocks in between.
