Complete Tough Dog suspension kit for the Toyota Hilux N70 4x4 (04/2005 to 09/2015), front and rear in one package, lifting the vehicle approximately 40mm. Build the kit from the dropdowns: shock configuration, front and rear spring rates, greasable shackles and pins, pre-assembled front struts and Tough Dog upper control arms.
Tough Dog build suspension for 4WDs only, so the valving and spring rates are set for corrugations, load and heat rather than showroom ride. Once a bull bar, winch, canopy or tray load goes on an N70 Hilux the factory suspension sags and runs out of control quickly. This kit puts the ride height and damping back where they should be, and every part in it is the same Tough Dog component we sell individually for the N70.

Shock configuration. The base kit runs Foam Cell struts in the front with Nitro Gas shocks in the rear, which suits most vehicles. If you carry constant loads or do heavy off-road work, step up to Foam Cell front and rear. For tunable ride control choose the 9-position adjustable shocks on the rear only, or on both ends.
Front spring rate. Comfort/medium (TDC974) suits a standard front end or an alloy bar. Constant load (TDC974H) suits a steel bull bar with a winch fitted permanently.
Rear spring rate. Pick the rate for the weight the ute carries all the time, not the occasional load. 0-300kg (T80C) suits mixed daily use. Constant 300kg (T80L) and constant 500kg (T80LL) are for a canopy, drawers or service body that never comes off. A heavier rating than you need rides firm when empty.
Greasable shackles and pins. Replace the factory rear shackles and spring pins with greasable Tough Dog items so the bushes can be serviced and stay quiet.
Pre-assembled front struts. The struts arrive built up with the coil and a new factory strut top, so the front end bolts straight in without a spring compressor and every original mounting plate is replaced. See our assembled N70 struts for the strut-only version.
Upper control arms. Tough Dog TDCA-002 upper control arms restore caster and camber at the new ride height for a correct wheel alignment and better CV joint angles.
Spring rate warning from Tough Dog: match the rear spring rating to the constant weight the vehicle actually carries. Over-springing the rear gives a harsh unladen ride and poor flex.

Bolt-in installation with no cutting or welding. A wheel alignment is required after fitting and the rear U-bolts should be re-torqued after the first few hundred kilometres. Tough Dog require their fitting sheet to be completed at installation to keep the warranty intact. Please note that all assembled struts are dispatched at a height based on our experience and the manufacturer's specifications for the advertised lift. Coil springs and leaf springs are manufactured to the advertised height and constant-load rating. Actual vehicle height may vary with the vehicle and the weight of fitted accessories, so further adjustment may be required after installation.
Yes - it suits the leaf-spring rear Toyota Hilux N70 4x4 built from 04/2005 to 09/2015, covering the KUN26 3.0L turbo diesel and GGN25 4.0L V6 petrol in Workmate, SR and SR5 trim, dual cab, extra cab and single cab. It does not suit the N80 (10/2015 onwards), which uses different struts and leaf springs. If you are unsure of your build date, send us your rego and we will confirm fitment before you order.

Foam Cell front with Nitro Gas rear is the base kit and suits most daily-driven and touring Hiluxes. Foam Cell front and rear is the pick for constant loads or regular heavy off-road use, as the 41mm foam cell body resists fade on long corrugated runs. The 9-position adjustable options let you tune damping between unladen daily driving and loaded touring or towing - choose adjustable on the rear only, or on both ends for full control.

If you are fitting the kit yourself or want the quickest workshop install, yes. Pre-assembled struts arrive with the strut, coil and a new factory strut top already built up and torqued, so there is no spring compressor work and all the original top plates are replaced rather than reused.
At a 40mm lift many N70 owners align without them, but caster and camber move away from factory as the front rises, and a heavy steel bar and winch makes it worse. The Tough Dog TDCA-002 upper control arms restore the correct geometry so the wheel alignment comes back into spec and the CV joints run at a better angle. A wheel alignment is required after fitting the kit either way.
