The Dobinsons Monotube 4" Front Lift Kit is built specifically for the Toyota Hilux N70 (2005-2015) IFS front end, using large-bore monotube shocks matched to heavy-duty coil springs pre-set for a genuine 4" of front lift. The monotube design runs a single oil chamber with a floating piston separating oil and nitrogen gas, shedding heat faster than a twin-tube shock and holding damping consistent under corrugations and constant front-end load. Paired with our coil springs range and the right upgraded control arms, this kit clears larger tyres and heavier front accessories like bull bars and winches. Dispatched from Australian stock with manufacturer warranty and fitment support from our team.

Lift height compliance: Suspension lifts of this size may exceed your state's allowable limit without engineering certification. Check your state's light vehicle modification rules (VSB14/NCOP) before fitting.
Choose your front coil spring rate based on what stays mounted on the nose of the truck day to day. A steel bull bar, driving lights, and a mounted winch all add constant load that a standard-rate spring will sag under over time. Common front accessories to weigh up include bull bars, winches, and dual battery setups mounted forward of the firewall — tell our team your fitted accessories and we'll confirm the right spring for your N70.
This kit is best fitted by a qualified suspension workshop or an experienced DIY installer with a hydraulic press and spring compressors on hand. Wheel alignment is mandatory after fitting — a 4" front lift changes castor and camber angles significantly and incorrect alignment will accelerate tyre wear. Allow a 500km bed-in period for the new springs and shocks to settle before fine-tuning ride height. At this lift height we recommend pairing the kit with control arm upgrades to correct CV joint and steering geometry.
Dobinsons has been building 4WD suspension in Australia for decades, with monotube and remote-reservoir shock lines developed and tested on local roads and tracks. Every kit carries a manufacturer warranty and is backed by our Australian-based fitment support team. Tradespeople and long-distance tourers both run Dobinsons gear on their Hilux N70s for the load-carrying and durability track record — view the full Dobinsons range for matched rear components.
This kit suits Hilux N70 owners running a front bull bar, winch, or driving light bar who need lift and clearance without losing front-end control. Tourers fitting bigger tyres and tradies carrying front-mounted gear both benefit from the heavier spring rate options. Rear-heavy tow rigs or camper setups should also look at our airbag suspension options to level the back end under load.

This kit is rated for a genuine 4" of front lift once fitted with the included heavy-duty coil springs. Actual ride height will settle slightly during the 500km bed-in period as the springs seat. This is a front-only kit, so pair it with a matching Dobinsons rear kit if you want an even 4" front and rear stance.
Please note that all assembled struts are dispatched at a height based on our experience and the manufacturer’s specifications for the advertised lift. Coil springs and leaf springs are also manufactured according to the advertised height and constant-load rating. Actual vehicle height may vary depending on the vehicle and the weight of fitted accessories. Further adjustment may therefore be required after installation. The installer may use coil spacers or adjust the struts at their discretion to achieve the desired height. We are not responsible for vehicle-specific height variations or any additional adjustments required after installation.
You get two Dobinsons monotube front shock absorbers, two heavy-duty front coil springs rated for the 4" lift, and the mounting bushes and hardware needed for installation. Rear suspension components are sold separately. At this lift height we also recommend a diff drop kit and extended front brake lines, which are not included in this kit.
The front lift kit itself doesn't carry the tow weight — that's handled by your rear suspension and tow bar rating — but it's commonly run alongside upgraded rear leaf or coil setups on tow rigs. Heavier front coil options in this kit support the added weight of bull bars and winches often fitted for touring and towing setups. Talk to our team about matching this front kit with the right rear spring rate for your trailer weight.
At a 4" front lift, factory control arms will run at a steeper angle and can limit downward wheel travel and correct CV joint alignment. We recommend fitting upgraded control arms alongside this kit to restore proper steering geometry and reduce strain on CV joints. It's not always mandatory at lower lift heights, but at 4" it's a strongly recommended pairing.
Yes, wheel alignment is mandatory after installing this kit. A 4" front lift changes castor and camber significantly compared to factory settings, and skipping alignment will cause uneven and accelerated tyre wear. Book your alignment straight after fitment and again after the 500km bed-in period once the springs have settled.
Dobinsons offers front coil spring options to suit different constant accessory loads, such as a bull bar, winch, or driving lights mounted up front. Tell our team what's permanently fitted to the nose of your Hilux N70 and we'll help you select the spring rate that keeps ride height correct and avoids front-end sag. Getting this right up front avoids re-ordering springs later.
A 4" front lift on the Hilux N70 opens up clearance for larger diameter tyres than what fits under the factory ride height. Actual maximum tyre size depends on your wheel offset, rear lift height, and whether you've trimmed or flared the guards. Our fitment support team can advise on tyre sizing once we know your full lift setup front and rear.
This kit is covered by Dobinsons' manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects in the shocks and springs. We stock this kit in Australia, so any warranty claim is handled locally through our team rather than an overseas process. Keep your invoice as proof of purchase for any warranty support.
Yes, this kit is designed to hold factory-like ride comfort on sealed roads while adding front clearance for off-road use. The monotube shock design manages heat well under regular driving and light off-road work, not just occasional touring trips. Correct spring rate selection for your accessory load and a proper wheel alignment are what keep daily driving comfortable at this lift height.
