Description

The Blackhawk Upper Control Arm kit is built specifically for the Gen3 Mazda BT-50 (09/2020-On) and ships with pre-fitted Roadsafe HD ball joints plus OE-style rubber bushes already installed. It's designed to correct camber and caster angles that shift once a vehicle is running a lift kit, restoring proper suspension geometry and reducing inner-edge tyre wear. The HD ball joints are a heavier-duty upgrade over the factory item, built for the extra load angle a lifted front end places on the joint. Backed by a manufacturer warranty and dispatched from Australian stock with fitment support from our team.

Browse all compatible suspension parts for your Upper Control Arm Mazda Bt-50 2020-On using our parts finder.

Kit Includes

  • 2 x Blackhawk UCA's pre-fitted with OE style rubber bushes
  • 2x Roadsafe HD Ball Joints pre-fitted to the control arms
  • 2 x Blackhawk Ball Joint Dust Caps
  • 2 x Dust Cap sealing O-Rings
  • 4 x Washers

Features

Key Features & Performance Benefits

  • Pre-fitted Roadsafe HD ball joints — a heavier-duty upgrade over the factory ball joint, rated for the increased load angle of a lifted front end
  • OE-style rubber bushes pressed into each arm for factory-like ride comfort, unlike solid uniball designs that transmit more noise and vibration
  • Corrects camber and caster angles that shift once a Gen3 BT-50 is fitted with a lift kit, helping restore even tyre contact and reduce inner-edge wear
  • Direct bolt-on design using factory mounting points — no drilling or permanent modification required
  • Increases usable up-travel over the factory upper arm, improving front wheel articulation on uneven ground
  • Works alongside upgraded coil springs and shock absorbers to keep geometry within alignment specification at ride height
  • Steel construction with a protective coating for corrosion resistance in Australian conditions
  • Backed by a manufacturer warranty and supplied with fitment guidance from our Australian-based team

Spring Rate Selection Guide

This control arm kit doesn't include springs, but the geometry it restores works hand in hand with your spring choice. If you're running a bull bar, winch, dual battery tray or a caravan on the tow ball, a higher-rated front and rear coil spring will hold ride height correctly once these arms are fitted. Talk to our team about matching spring rate to your accessory load before ordering both parts together.

Installation & Setup

Fitment is a bolt-on job at the factory mounting points, but it involves pressing out the old arm and torquing new pivot bolts, so we recommend an experienced 4WD workshop or a confident DIY installer with a hoist and rattle gun. A wheel alignment is mandatory after fitting — camber and caster change the moment these arms go on, and an alignment locks in correct tyre wear patterns. Allow a 500km bedding-in period for the new rubber bushes to settle before a final alignment check. Pairing this kit with lower control arm upgrades gives a more complete geometry correction on heavily lifted BT-50s.

Why Choose Blackhawk4x4?

Blackhawk4x4 builds suspension components specifically for popular Australian 4WD platforms, including the Gen3 BT-50 covered by this kit. Every arm ships with the Roadsafe HD ball joint already pressed in, so you're not sourcing and fitting that part separately. The kit carries a manufacturer warranty, and you can view the full Blackhawk4x4 range for matching lift components.

Who Is This For?

This kit suits BT-50 owners who've already fitted, or are about to fit, a lift kit and want the front geometry corrected rather than left on factory-spec arms. It's also a sensible upgrade for tourers and tradies covering rough back roads where extra articulation and a heavier-duty ball joint pay off. If you're carrying constant weight — camper, canopy or tools — pair this with airbag suspension to manage rear sag.

In stock in Australia and dispatched fast from our warehouse, with fitment support from our team if you're unsure what else your BT-50 needs. Browse our full lift kit range to find matching components for your build.

FAQs

This Blackhawk Upper Control Arm kit is built specifically for the Gen3 Mazda BT-50, from September 2020 onwards. It bolts on at the factory mounting points with no drilling required. If your BT-50 falls outside this build date, check with our team via the parts finder for Mazda BT-50 before ordering.

This kit doesn't add lift on its own — it's designed to correct camber and caster geometry on a Gen3 BT-50 that already has a lift kit fitted. The extended up-travel in the arm design allows for more front wheel articulation at height. For actual lift height, pair this with a Blackhawk4x4 lift kit and raised coil springs from our lift kit range.

You get two Blackhawk upper control arms, left and right hand, each with a Roadsafe HD ball joint and OE-style rubber bush pre-fitted at manufacture. Mounting hardware and pivot bolts are included for direct bolt-on fitment. Lower control arms, coil springs and shocks are not included and are sold separately.

Yes, correcting front geometry after a lift is relevant for BT-50s used for towing, since incorrect camber under load accelerates tyre wear. This kit doesn't change payload or spring rate itself, so for towing setups we'd also look at matching rear leaf or coil upgrades. Speak to our team about a complete setup for your GVM and towing needs.

On a Gen3 BT-50 running more than a factory-height lift, the factory upper control arm often can't achieve correct camber and can bind at full droop. Upgrading to this Blackhawk arm with HD ball joints restores the geometry range and reduces strain on the joint. It's a common pairing with lift kits from 1" up through larger lifts, though the exact need depends on your specific lift height.

Yes, a wheel alignment is mandatory after installing these control arms. Camber and caster change the moment the new arm goes on, and an alignment sets these back to specification for your ride height. We recommend a final alignment check after a 500km bedding-in period once the rubber bushes have settled.

This control arm kit is sold separately from springs, so spring rate is chosen independently based on your accessory load. If you're carrying a bull bar, winch or canopy, a higher-rated coil spring keeps ride height correct once these arms are fitted. Our team can help match spring rate to your BT-50's accessory list.

This kit corrects geometry rather than adding physical clearance, so tyre fitment depends on the lift kit and rims you're running alongside it. Correcting camber does help larger tyres wear evenly once you've gone up in lift height. Check tyre size against your specific lift kit's clearance notes before buying rubber.

This kit is covered by a Blackhawk4x4 manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. If an issue comes up, our Australian-based team handles the warranty process directly rather than referring you overseas. Keep your purchase invoice as proof of purchase for any warranty claim.

Yes, the OE-style rubber bushes are chosen specifically to keep ride quality closer to factory feel for daily driven BT-50s, unlike solid uniball arms which transmit more noise and vibration. Combined with correct alignment, the ride stays comfortable on sealed roads while still handling touring tracks. It's a common choice for tradies and tourers who use their BT-50 for both.
