Tough Dog rear shock absorbers for the Isuzu D-MAX RG (August 2020 on), sold as a pair and covering standard height up to approximately 40mm of lift. Foam Cell (FC43035) for fade-free touring or 9-position 40mm Adjustable (BM403035) for tunable damping.
If your Isuzu D-MAX RG & Mazda BT-50 TF 2020-On wanders over corrugations or keeps bouncing after a dip, the rear dampers are usually the culprit – heat kills damping oil long before the shocks start leaking.
The Foam Cell is Tough Dog's twin-tube workhorse: a microcellular foam insert takes the place of the usual air gap inside the shock body, so the oil can't foam up as heat builds and the damping stays consistent on long corrugated stretches. The 40mm Adjustable adds 9-stage adjustable valving – run it softer for unloaded around-town driving, then firm it up when the vehicle is loaded for touring, without taking anything apart.
The price covers both sides – always replace shocks in pairs so damping stays even across the axle. It's also the right time to look over bushes and mounting hardware while everything is apart.
Doing the whole vehicle at once? We also stock the matching rear Leaf Springs and TD-R Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks for the Isuzu D-MAX RG & Mazda BT-50 TF 2020-On.
Pair with Tough Dog rear leaf springs.

Foam Cell is the all-round choice for touring – the foam insert stops the oil aerating so damping stays consistent on corrugations. Step up to the 9-stage Adjustable if the vehicle swings between unloaded weekdays and loaded trips and you want to tune the damping to match, or to the bigger-bore options if it works hard, hot and heavy most of the time.
Yes - the same FC43035 / BM403035 shocks are specified for the RG 4x2 model at standard height with heavy-duty rear springs.
The listed price covers both sides – always replace left and right together so the axle is evenly damped and sprung. It's a bolt-in job for a competent home mechanic or any workshop; check bushes, mounts and brake-line slack while everything is apart.
Yes - the 2020-on Mazda BT-50 TF is built on the Isuzu D-MAX RG platform and Tough Dog specifies identical part numbers for both. This listing covers the D-MAX RG (excluding Blade) and the BT-50 TF 08/2020 onwards.
