Choose your front and rear spring rate based on what stays fitted to the vehicle day to day, not just what you carry occasionally. Front-end accessories like a steel bull bar, winch and driving lights add constant weight that a heavier front coil accounts for. Rear-end additions such as a tray, canopy, dual battery tray, water tank or drawer system all add up — tell our team what's fitted so we can recommend the correct rear leaf spring rate.
This kit is best fitted by an experienced 4WD suspension workshop given the remote reservoir mounting and leaf spring work involved, though capable DIY installers with the right tools can complete it. A wheel alignment is mandatory after fitting to correct camber, caster and toe at the new ride height. Allow a 500km bed-in period for the springs and shock seals to settle before fine-tuning your adjuster settings. Pair the kit with control arm upgrades if you're also correcting geometry or running larger tyres.
Dobinsons has been designing 4WD suspension for Australian conditions for decades, with the MRA range built around fully rebuildable monotube technology rather than sealed, disposable shocks. Every MRA kit is covered by manufacturer warranty and backed by our local fitment support team. Tourers and tradespeople running Ranger Next Gens for work and travel both rely on this range — view the full Dobinsons range to compare options.
This kit suits Ranger Next Gen owners who tow a van or trailer, run a canopy and tray for work, or head off-road with camping gear loaded. If you're carrying a constant heavy rear load such as a slide-on camper, it's worth comparing this coil/leaf setup against airbag suspension for load-levelling support. For most touring and towing setups, the 3-way adjustable MRA kit gives you the range to suit both empty and loaded runs.

Yes, this Dobinsons MRA kit is built for the Ford Ranger Next Gen (P703) built from 2022 onward, covering both the 2.0L Bi-Turbo and 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel variants. It is not designed for the earlier PX/PX2/PX3 Ranger — that's a different chassis and shock mount design. If you're unsure which generation you have, check your build plate or use our contact page and our team will confirm fitment against your VIN.
This kit provides a 2" lift front and rear over standard ride height. The lift is achieved through vehicle-specific front coil springs and rear leaf springs, not spacers, so factory geometry is maintained more closely than a cheaper spacer lift. Actual ride height can vary slightly depending on accessories already fitted and vehicle load.
Please note that all assembled struts are dispatched at a height based on our experience and the manufacturer’s specifications for the advertised lift. Coil springs and leaf springs are also manufactured according to the advertised height and constant-load rating. Actual vehicle height may vary depending on the vehicle and the weight of fitted accessories. Further adjustment may therefore be required after installation. The installer may use coil spacers or adjust the struts at their discretion to achieve the desired height. We are not responsible for vehicle-specific height variations or any additional adjustments required after installation.
The kit includes 2 x Dobinsons MRA adjustable front shocks and 2 x MRA adjustable rear shocks, both monotube with external remote reservoirs. It also includes vehicle-specific front coil springs, rear leaf springs, rear shock mounting brackets, U-bolt kits and all mounting hardware. Upper control arms are not included and are sold separately if you need corrected front geometry.
Yes, the rear leaf springs in this kit are rated to support constant accessory and towing loads without sagging, and the 3-way adjustable shocks let you firm up rebound and compression when towing a van or trailer. For very heavy constant loads, ask our team about matching a higher rear spring rate or adding airbag suspension for extra load support. Standard tow ball weights within Ranger's factory tow rating are well within this kit's design range.
Control arms aren't included in this kit and aren't mandatory for a 2" lift, but they're worth considering if you want fully corrected caster and camber angles at ride height. Our control arm range is designed to work alongside Dobinsons lift kits on the Next Gen Ranger. Without upgraded arms, most vehicles will still align within factory-acceptable specifications at this lift height, but a control arm upgrade improves CV joint and ball joint angles.
Yes, a full wheel alignment is mandatory after this kit is fitted. Ride height changes camber, caster and toe, and running the vehicle without realignment leads to uneven tyre wear and can affect steering feel. We recommend alignment straight after fitment and again after the 500km bed-in period once springs have settled.
Yes, Dobinsons offers this kit with different front and rear spring rate options to suit your constant accessory load. Tell our team what's permanently fitted — bull bar, winch, canopy, tray, water tank, drawers — and we'll recommend the closest matching rate. Getting the rate right avoids a nose-high or rear-sagging stance once your gear is loaded.
A 2" lift typically gives enough clearance for a moderate increase in tyre diameter over standard, depending on wheel offset and width. Exact tyre clearance depends on your wheel width, offset and whether guard trimming is required, so it's worth confirming your specific tyre size with our team before ordering. This lift also improves approach and departure angles, which helps with off-road ground clearance regardless of tyre size.
This Dobinsons MRA kit carries manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and the shocks are fully rebuildable rather than disposable if they ever need servicing down the track. We handle warranty support locally in Australia, so you're dealing with our team directly rather than an overseas supplier. Keep your proof of purchase and fitment invoice for any warranty claim.
Yes, this kit is designed to retain a comfortable, controlled ride unladen for daily driving while still giving you the adjustment range to firm up for towing or off-road work. The 3-way external adjusters mean you can soften the ride for commuting and stiffen it up for weekend touring without swapping components. Most Next Gen Ranger owners run this kit as their everyday setup and adjust settings to suit the trip ahead.
